For the first time in three decades, Glen Huntly Village is aglow with Christmas decorations! This season, our community has come together in a remarkable way, transforming the neighborhood and bringing the festive spirit back to our village. Thanks to the dedication of Jinny from Remnscnt Cafe—who took the initiative to apply for a grant from the Glen Eira Council—essential funding was secured to make this holiday dream a reality.
Jinny’s passion for our community, alongside the support of the Glen Huntly Revival group and the organizing help of Kristen Brooks, rallied an incredible turnout of volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to create a truly magical holiday display. From sparkling lights and Christmas trees to festive gift boxes and decorative touches, Glen Huntly Village now glows with holiday cheer, ready to welcome residents and visitors alike.
But this incredible transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our local traders, whose donations helped cover essential items and ensured we could achieve our vision. A huge thank you to Woodards, JB Physio, The Servery, Vac Plus, and countless other local businesses that stepped up to help bring extra sparkle to the village. Their contributions were instrumental in bringing this project to life, showing once again the strength of our community’s spirit.
We also extend a special thanks to Tom from Annabella’s Pizza, who generously provided lunch to fuel our volunteer team on decorating day. His support added warmth to the day, making it even more memorable for everyone involved.
The village traders are thrilled to see Glen Huntly revived with festive decorations, and the community response has been overwhelming.
